Ramphastos Investments grootaandeelhouder medisch robotiseringsbedrijf R-Solution Medical

Rhenen, 5 oktober 2022 – Ramphastos Investments, de investeringsmaatschappij van ondernemer en investeerder Marcel Boekhoorn, is grootaandeelhouder geworden van R-Solution Medical, pionier op het gebied van geautomatiseerd verpakken van herbruikbare medische instrumenten voor ziekenhuizen en zorginstellingen. Het in 2017 opgerichte bedrijf verwacht met de investering van Ramphastos Investments haar nationale en internationale groeiambities te versnellen.

Het controleren, verpakken en naar de juiste afdeling sturen van herbruikbaar medisch instrumentarium wordt traditioneel handmatig gedaan op Centrale Sterilisatie Afdelingen van ziekenhuizen. Mariska van der Vliet en Niels Welling waren werkzaam in de medische sector en zagen grote kansen om dit proces te verbeteren. Mariska van der Vliet: “Het opnieuw verpakken van gereinigd medisch instrumentarium is eentonig en zwaar werk dat heel nauwkeurig en volgens strenge protocollen moet worden gedaan. Ziekenhuizen hebben steeds vaker moeite om hiervoor voldoende gekwalificeerd personeel te vinden en te behouden.” Van der Vliet stond in 2017 met Niels Welling aan de wieg van R-Solution Medical. Welling: “Onze ambitie was om een geautomatiseerde totaaloplossing te bedenken die medische instrumentensets kon inpakken en die het logistieke proces zou verbeteren. Dit heeft geleid tot de ontwikkeling van de R-APPIT medische inpakrobot.”

R-Solution heeft inmiddels twee inpakrobots met gepatenteerde technologieën en processen in ziekenhuizen geïnstalleerd en er vinden gesprekken plaats met verscheidene medische instellingen en gerenommeerde internationale distributeurs. Kingma ziet dan ook grote kansen voor het bedrijf: “De inpakrobot, die inmiddels in twee ziekenhuizen volledig functioneel is, is compact genoeg om in bestaande en nieuwe sterilisatieafdelingen te kunnen worden geplaatst. Bovendien wordt er al snel een besparing van 25% aan verpakkingsmateriaal gerealiseerd. Dit resulteert in een belangrijke bijdrage aan de duurzaamheids- en efficiëntieslag binnen de ziekenhuizen, zonder in te leveren op de kwaliteit van het eindproduct. We denken dan ook dat de R-APPIT medische inpakrobot de potentie heeft om een vast onderdeel te worden van elke moderne medische instelling, zowel in Nederland als daarbuiten.”

Ramphastos Investments becomes major shareholder
in healthcare robotics company R-Solution Medical

Rhenen, 05 October 2022 – Ramphastos Investments, the investment company of entrepreneur and investor Marcel Boekhoorn, has become a major shareholder in R-Solution Medical. Founded in 2017, R-Solution Medical is a pioneer in high-precision, automated packaging of reusable medical instruments for hospitals and healthcare institutions. As a result of Ramphastos Investment’s participation, the company plans to accelerate its national and international growth ambitions.

Checking, packaging, and sending reusable medical instruments to the right medical department is traditionally carried out manually at Central Sterilization Departments of hospitals. Working in the medical sector, founders of R-Solution Medical, Mariska van der Vliet and Niels Welling saw great opportunities to improve this process.

Mariska van der Vliet, says: “Repackaging cleaned medical instruments is monotonous and hard work that must be executed with high precision and according to strict protocols. Hospitals increasingly struggle to find and retain suitably qualified staff for this purpose.”

Niels Welling adds: “Our ambition was to come up with an automated total solution that could pack medical instrument sets and improve the logistics process. This led to the development of the R-APPIT medical packaging robot.”

R-Solution has now installed two of its patented packaging robots in hospitals and talks are taking place with several medical institutions and renowned international distributors.

Kingma therefore sees great opportunities for the company: “The packaging robot, which is now running in two hospitals, is compact enough to be placed in existing and new sterilization departments. Moreover, it quickly saves 25% of packaging material. This results in a significant contribution to sustainability and efficiency within hospitals, without compromising the quality of the final product. We therefore believe that the R-APPIT medical packaging robot has the potential to become a permanent part of every modern medical institution, both in the Netherlands and abroad.”
